Erin and Eric – Congratulations and we hope you are loving Maui and Lanai and are able to get up for the Haleakula sunrise!  Thank you for including us in such a beautiful day.  Here’s a sneak peek at your pics.

The chapel was around the corner…what a gorgeous day we had…

The ceremony was at Ethel Walker School in Simsbury and the reception was at The Hartford Club in Hartford.

We took formal pics at Ethel Walker’s Riding School across the street from the chapel:

I think no one knew what I was doing with this pose, but I hope they like how it turned out:

Thank you bridal party for walking through a stinky stable in your nice clothes!

Then we went to an old metal bridge in Simsbury which had flowers hung all along it, called the Drake Hill Bridge:

Hitting the streets of Hartford before the cocktail party to get some urban shots in.  I love the fashion feel of these pictures:

This pic is just a side note for any photo-techies out there.  The rings were shot with a 1.8 aperture, meaning a very narrow window of focus.  I thought it was cool how you can actually see the band of what’s in focus in this pic of the wedding rings:

If you haven’t been to the Hartford Club, it’s got that old men’s club feel.  I often take pics that would make good background shots for albums (couples must wonder why I have some shots included when they see the proofs!).  But here’s one that I thought totally had the feel of the club:

The band was The Silver Streaks Band and I loved how Eric is looking at Erin in this pic:

Look at this cake made by Creative Cakes by Donna – fondant icing that’s curved like that – wow!

As a mother of boys, I’m always choking up at the parent dances.  I thought this was really touching as the mother of the groom is stroking her son’s hair in the dance:

I’ll end on, while this wasn’t the official father/daughter dance, it was the first time I’ve seen an entire family reenact “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” – yes, Meatloaf – it was a classic wedding moment that I loved and I’m sure their family will talk about forever!!!

Thank you guys for including us in your wedding.  I really feel lucky to be working with such nice people and you and your families were such warm, open people, it really was a pleasure!

Well enjoy that warm weather – it’s sunny but cold here today–a typical New England fall!

Sarah and Terrence –  Thank you for agreeing to be my first blogged couple!  We hope you are having a wonderful time in St. John – remember Waterlemon Key…and I think the giant sea turtles are at Salt Pond Bay (???) – Low Key Watersports was excellent for snorkel/scuba trips and they would probably know.

Anyway, thank you to you and your families for such a wonderful night and photography experience – I hope you like the pics.  These blog pics may be a little pixely as I get my sizing right for the blog, but you’ll get the idea…  Here’s a sneak peek.

Great light, great room, great model, Vera Wang dress – pretty easy on the photographer:

Very cool shoes and Sarah gave the girls Kenneth Cole flip-flops for dancing…(please excuse the name-dropping — I read it’s good for blog search engines and I also figured brides would like to know where certain things came from!)

This was a totally spontaneous shot that I couldn’t have posed better!

As a photographer, I’ve had like three moments where I didn’t realize I took a certain picture until I looked at the film/files.  This was one of them.  I was going thru the dance pictures and realized that this amazing moment of real emotion and tears was caught.  It’s very exciting for us photographers to get a photo like this.

This is also a favorite from near the end of the night.  I saw it from across the room and ran to shoot it and I’m so glad I did!

Sarah and Terrence, the rest will be ready in the next 1-2 weeks.  Mike and I ended up taking 4000 photos at your wedding!  I’m still trying to get it edited to under 1000!  So, there’s plenty more to see!
