We first met Emily at her brother Brendan’s wedding to Mika down on the CT shore at the Eolia Mansion two summers ago.  So it was great seeing Emily and her whole family again just a few weeks ago–and to meet her man Matt–for their wonderful wedding at the Lake of Isles in North Stonington CT!   That morning Matt had given Emily a drawing of a lady bug, and after their first look a little lady bug landed on Emily’s dress…good karma all around!  Thanks guys for getting into the woods for photos!

Everyone was happy to have another sunshine-filled Saturday as their ceremony got underway on the Lake of Isles deck.  Polks dots abounded from Emily’s pretty dress to the Champagne flutes and cake and the lovely flowers came from Cedar Grove Gardens up in Dorchester MA where Matt worked in Junior High.  After several toasts and a lot of laughs folks got jiggy down on the dance floor with some energetic Boston Irish dancing.

When we first spoke with Kyla and Caley, I found myself saying ‘Cayla and Kiley’ and had to keep straight whose name was whose!  Once we met, it all made sense–these two fit together as one so perfectly.

Their choice of Montauk and its new cool Sole East Resort really matched their wedding’s relaxed & real feel.   Of course, islands have unpredictable weather, so everyone geared up for an under-the-tent wedding as it poured down in the morning.  In the span of 30 minutes it all changed, however, and Kyla and Caley got their super-sunny outdoor wedding and cocktail party off without a hitch.  Just lots of good vibes all around, and, as Kyla’s mom noted, this wedding has gone down in history as “LoveFest 2012″!

Onto the reception where all the kids gathered to sing “Kyla and Caley” (written for the occasion and set to “Hey There Delilah”) with the refrain “Ohh Kyla and Caley” then everyone hit the dance floor to the music of Hank Lane’s Dane Wright band.  We’ve seen many bands–these guys truly stand out for their rapport, sound and energy they pour into their performance.  As for fashion…Kyla looked great in her Alix & Kelly wedding dress (with all the bridesmaids in individual blue dresses) as did Caley in his  J. Crew suit and Thomas Pink ties for himself and groomsmen.  And the beautiful roses, hydrangeas and other flowers came from Colony Florist from Greenwich CT

Remember where you were the night Hurricane Irene hit Connecticut?  We were on the Connecticut River in Essex at Farrell and Darius’s wedding at the Dauntless Yacht Club in Essex CT.  In the calm before the storm they held their ceremony and were married, and Irene held off  just enough to photograph Farrell and Darius strolling down Essex’s Main Street.  Then the rains came, but the reception rocked on beneath the stylish and sturdy Sperry Tent.

Well…a few weeks back we delivered Farrell and Darius their Queensberry album from their wedding and it looks beautful–you can hardly tell there was a storm brewing at all.  In the photos Farrell just beams with happiness and is so quick with a smile–love her cracking up in the receiving line!  The Queensberry white leather cover along with white pages and mats really brighten the look, making the greens and reds pop in their album.

Back to the Hurricane…Farrell and Darius were able to have a full reception, dancing into the night, but come dawn all that remained of their tent site was a floating dance floor in the Connecticut River…quite a wedding to remember!  Click here to view more photos of their album.

Montauk NY is less than 60 miles as the crow flies from our home in West Hartford but it’s a wonderful world away–and a great spot to get married!  We loved every part of Kyla and Caley’s wedding last weekend at the cool Sole East resort….here’s a sneak peek from their wedding day with many more coming soon.  Suffice it to say, a weather miracle occurred last Saturday when Kyla and Caley actually got married outside in the brilliant sunshine!  A huge Congratulations to Kyla and Caley….and cheers to you guys down in Nevis…enjoy your honeymoon!!

A huge congratulations to Johan Santana for pitching the 1st Mets no hitter last Friday against St. Louis.  For the past 4 years we’ve photographed the NY Mets for SNY at Spring Training and we always look forward to seeing Santana–he’s always quick with a joke and has fun with the shoot.  Well done Johan!!!  Keep it going Mets!!!!
