Hilary and Jesse’s Wedding at Cranwell in Lenox MA!
The Berkshires looked appropriately dreamlike due to that famous frosting last Saturday for Hilary and Jesse’s heartfelt wedding at the Cranwell Resort in Lenox MA. They held their ceremony at the classic New England Church on the Hill, and incorporated meaningful letters they wrote for each other, read by their minister. Then it was back down the lane to Cranwell, looking very much like a warm English manor home and pub, where we dashed outside for some snowy portraits, with Hilary styling in her 70s Moon Boots.
Hilary and Jesse live in Bermuda and they named their reception tables for the nine Bermuda Parishes and their home on the island. Jane and I love Bermuda–we were there in the summer of ’08 celebrating Jane’s 40th and had a blast diving and snorkeling and meeting the locals at the cricket club.
A very fun reception with the extremely energetic Beantown band from Boston getting some help on the cow bell by Hilary and Jesse’s friend…they played a bit of everything including the electric fiddle for the CDB’s Devil Went Down to Georgia. The beautiful flowers including the white Calla Lillies in Hilary’s bouquet came from Carolyn Valenti Flowers, and the cake from Something Sweet by Michelle looked great. We enjoyed meeting Jamie from JPod Productions videography as well. Looking forward to returning to Cranwell later in the year for another wedding.
Hilary and Jesse, enjoy Zermatt! And thanks so much for having us document your day!!

Andrea and Brian’s Wedding at The Society Room in Hartford CT!
We kicked off our 2011 wedding season with Andrea and Brian’s whirlwind winter wedding at The Society Room in downtown Hartford last weekend. Andrea is friends with both Jenny, whose summer ’09 wedding we photographed, and her sister, Stephanie, who works at Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford…where Andrea and I (Mike) are tutors.
Brian’s in the Air Force and wore his evening dress uniform along with his fellow Air Force groomsmen who formed the Arch of Sabres that Andrea and Brian recessed through. Lots of photos were on display at the reception and Andrea’s dad’s toast included fun images from her younger days (check out the Pippi hair!). At times like these I see myself at Sebbie’s and Jude’s weddings thinking and saying the same thing…they were so little just yesterday…where did the time go?
Andrea and Brian were game for venturing into the mashed potato snow on Pratt Street for a late night photo shoot…that old snow has a beautiful texture next to her wedding dress and stole. Andrea and Brian, enjoy your African adventure! Thanks so much for having us photograph your wedding!!

Client Spotlight: Made in Manhattan…Cara Landy Handbags!
Cara Landy…what a great name for a fashion brand. Celebrities from Hilary Duff to the Gossip Girl stars agree—they’ve got their own Cara Landy handbags hanging on their shoulders. Cara, whose 2009 wedding to Robbie we photographed, is from West Hartford CT, and started designing and making handbags at age 14. After college she took her game to New York City’s Garment District where today she designs and manufactures her eponymous bags. Cara’s customers are typically women 18-35 who find her handbags in stores like Bloomingdales and Henri Bendel (and online by etailers like eBags and TrendyTrousseau.com), but she sells mostly through hundreds of smaller boutiques around the US. Her business gets a big boost from celebrity use such as when Ashley Simpson gave Cara Landy handbags to her birthday party guests, which People Magazine publicized. Then there was the time Oprah showcased Cara’s handbags in her O Magazine, prompting a deluge of calls and hits to Cara’s website.
