We like to wait til after the holiday card season to publish the fall portraits so I think it’s time!  I’ve loved watching Lindsay and Steve’s family grow over the last few years by shooting their family, Landon’s first year and now Fiona’s first year!  We had a wonderful shoot at The Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington…a truly beautiful place…check them out for kids programs, an afternoon date, and weddings…one of our favorite places to shoot!  It was great to partner with Hill-Stead this year for our family portraits and we hope we will be able to do that again this fall.  We look forward to shooting some wonderful weddings there this year…one of which is being planned by Lindsay and her partner Talia of Sixpence Events.  If you are wondering where Lindsay gets these amazing clothes, she’s a big Anthropologie fan and Fiona and Landon’s outfits are from Bundle NYC.  Thanks so much guys…always a pleasure!

Hartford City Ballet Dancers

I love mixing photojournalism with a studio set-up so shooting Hannah Fluet and Alejandro Bobadilla, two of the Hartford City Ballet dancers, in action was a real treat.

We’ve been shooting studio portraits at the Hartford City Ballet for the past year on Park Road in the Parkville section of Hartford.  Now that they’ve moved to new digs–on New Park Road in the old Hummer dealership’s half-Quonset hut building–we’ve moved with them.  It’s a nice airy spot with great lighting and really nice folks who run the Ballet.

A few weeks back we had a fun shoot with the dancers themselves–in action. Hannah Fluet and Alejandro Bobadilla, two of the Hartford City Ballet dancers, were perfect to work with…and it’s cool how the camera freezes their movements which look so different when you view them in real time.  The HCB has hip hop, jazz, Zumba and other dance classes in addition to ballet–check them out at www.hartfordcityballet.org.  Our son Sebbie already has some signature moves…we’ll have to enroll him in some classes soon!
