We just love tented weddings.  More than any other element, a tent can set the stage for a memorable and truly festive wedding (and they look great in photos!).  We especially love Sperry Tents–so it was wonderful that Sperry Tents blog featured Caity and Matt’s wedding at the Hill-Stead Museum today.  We worked with terrific folks including our friends Lindsay and Talia of Sixpence for Your Shoe event planners and Courtney Silk from the Hill-Stead Museum.  I added a few other pics from from Caity and Matt’s garden party wedding back in June…and if you want to see more here’s our blogpost of their wedding from this summer.

So nice to finally meet Hollen and Adam a few weeks back on a brilliant but blustery day down in Madison CT!    A great couple, Hollen and Adam have dated since high school and have that chemistry and ease between them that translates perfectly into photos.  We shot first at the new Madison Beach Hotel then over at Meigs Point in Hammonasset, where I (Mike) used to windsurf on days like this.  Who knew Hammo could look like the Northern California shore?  Loved the light that day.

Adam’s from Cheshire where I grew up and he and Hollen are getting married in Branford on the water at Adam’s grandmother’s house–a beautiful spot–in June.  Hollen and Adam are in good hands with their wedding planners Kristin and Lauren from Bellafare who we’ve worked with before (here’s link to Caitlin and Greg’s wedding from 2010).  And you should know that Hollen is a gift-guru and writes a cool blog with all kinds of gift advice…check out hollenpicked this holiday season!   Congrats Hollen and Adam…and Happy Holidays!!

Won’t you take me to funky town…that would be West Simsbury CT just before Thanksgiving for the Gifts of Love 70s “Night Out in Style” held at Hoffman Honda, head sponsor of the event.  Our friend & uber-planner Adria organized the event, which featured Billy Grant himself cooking up a storm, WTIC funny man Damon Scott as m.c., the sounds of local band, Poor Gordon, and our Jane in the “Lava Lounge” snapping away.  Debbie Wright of Project Closet and Better Connecticut was on hand along with Hair Loft owner Maura Fitzgerald, donating their styling services in the auction.

The guests really got into the look of the 70s, featuring dueling McEnroes…our friend Scott had the short shorts and headband goin’ on…and loved Teresa’s look below!  Nice seeing our friends and we ran into our clients Bill and Arlene whose 50th anniversary party I photographed last summer. Fun night for a local cause: Gifts of Love, based in Avon, helps Farmington Valley folks in need with food, clothing and furniture, especially necessary following October’s snowstorm.  To view more pics click here.
