Julia and Jared’s Litchfield County Garden Party Wedding on Style Me Pretty!
What a way to bring on the green today with a gorgeous Style Me Pretty feature of Julia and Jared’s Connecticut country wedding! Julia and Jared were married last May at her family’s home in Litchfield CT with an outdoor ceremony and tented reception set in the rolling hills of northwest Connecticut. Their wedding brought together that perfect blend of city style and country chic (the tuxes and dinner jackets looked great in the pastoral setting). With all the snow and rain last year the hay on the fields on their property was well over knee-high–Julia’s father almost had them cut for their wedding—we’re glad he left them high because the grassy texture made a beautiful backdrop for photos!
The prettiest pastel flowers from Earth Blossoms in Harwinton decorated the bouquets, chuppah and all around–really outstanding. And we had the opportunity to worked alongside Mike from Buzz Media Company, who filmed their wedding.
Julia and Jared, enjoy this spring and happy anniversary this May! For some more photos of their wedding, here’s a link to Julia and Jared’s wedding blogpost as well…enjoy!

Grace Academy Middle School for Girls in Hartford CT
Mention Junior High or Middle School to many adults and it often conjures up less than stellar memories. The awkwardness, bullying, cliques, you name it. Yet, at the same time, this transition to High School is critical to the academic future of students as they shift gears to more challenging learning.
Grace Academy Middle School for Girls in downtown Hartford is changing all of this…and the results were plain to see in our visit there last month. Grace Academy teaches some 60 girls in grades 5-8, and Jane’s friend Lindsey works with the school…and invited us to a luncheon in January to meet the girls and their staff. These teenagers were so nice–smart, polite, disciplined and determined to succeed. Great to see this school making a big difference in these girls’ lives.
If you’d like to contribute your time or money to Grace Academy so they can continue to build these girls’ character and brains, please visit their website to see a variety of ways you can help. Below are a few photos from their event and click here for some more…
