Creating a West Hartford Photography Storefront: The “Before” Pics
We wanted to chronicle the build-out of the studio, but not really by shooting pictures of the space alone in every stage. Instead, we wanted to photograph the people that go into transforming the space. Having moved from the corporate world to the entrepreneurial one, we are both huge fans of small business…so we’re thrilled that everyone we’ve asked so far has agreed to be part of my (Jane) “reStore” personal project where I photograph all the people who are involved in helping us make this place a reality! That said, we thought it would still be a good idea to show a “before” and stay tuned for some close-ups of the fun people we get to work with!

Fire Roasted Catering Pig Roast for Weddings and Events!
Calling all foodies and grilling aficionados in the Northeast…you need to check out the Berkshire’s Fire Roasted Catering! True to their name, Fire Roasted Catering from Great Barrington MA, roasts pretty much everything from garlic scapes to cornbread to a pig roast over a massive wood fire they set up on site for weddings and parties. Started in 2004 by Chef Jeremy Stanton, Fire Roasted is a distinctly different catering company…roots grilling you might say. They’re creative cooks, using multi-tiered grills, hand-turned spits, and a chicken rotisserie that seems inspired by a Oktoberfest carnival ride! At your event, the chef and team don’t hide off in a corner–they’re part of the festivities, very open to having guests mingle and check out what’s cooking.
Committed to the locavore movement, Fire Roasted’s pigs and other meat come from farms in the Berkshires, Litchfield County CT and NY state. They offer lots more than roasted meat, with all manner of veggies, breads and charcuterie available. Jeremy also runs The Meat Market butcher shop and lunch venue in Great Barrington which offers classes on sausage making, knife work etc….you can see their class schedule here. Dark and Lovely: Advertorial for L’Oreal in October 2012 Essence
Great shooting Jayda, Ashley and C. Devone at the L’Oreal Tech Center on 5th Avenue in August for Dark and Lovely, L’Oreal’s black women’s hair line of relaxers, colorants and more. Dark and Lovely celebrated their 40th anniversary in October and did a special advertorial page published in Essence and used their images for their website. The three women aren’t models but they were so professional, fun and easy to work with you’d never know! Jayda is an amazing stylist…see her website here! Ashley is an up and coming actress and C. Devone is a professional DJ. Also great working with Nicole from Bratskier and Damien of L’Oreal!
