We traveled to Litchfield County for Alicia and Tim’s wedding two weeks ago with their tented reception held in Alicia’s parents’ lovely home in Lakeville, such a beautiful part of Connecticut.  Alicia and Tim were married in the classic Congregational Church of Salisbury and headed back to Lakeville where the rain didn’t dampen spirits whatsoever—this was an energetic wedding, with tons of dancing to the LaBlanc Brothers band who are awesome singers and instrumentalists.  We loved Alicia’s gown and the bridesmaids’ lemon yellow dresses, and Tim and the men in blue blazers looked great next to the girls.  The lemon theme was carried throughout with the beautiful centerpieces and flowers by Sweethaven Farm in Salisbury.  Their cool vintage cake topper came from Alicia’s grandmother’s wedding cake and the menu by Emily’s Catering included lobster bisque and steamers, adding a New England coastal touch.   A very fun wedding with lots of laughter and letting loose under the tent right up to the tossing of lavender buds for Alicia and Tim at the end of the evening.

Thanks so much Alicia and Tim (and Peggy and Ted!) for having us photograph your wedding….congratulations!!

Vanessa and Brandon met several years ago in New Haven as Yale undergrads and returned to the Elm City for their warm and intimate wedding at the Union League Cafe last weekend.  We also love the Union League Cafe…it’s a nice choice for great French brasserie food and that clubby, restaurant atmosphere.  Vanessa and Brandon have such supportive and loving families—Vanessa’s father spoke touchingly to his daughter and the congregation about her life as he handed her to Brandon to start the ceremony.  As they began their vows, the torrential rains ceased and the sun came out for the rest of the day allowing us to tuck into the Yale campus to photograph the wedding party and family.

The Sidewinders, a great group of jazz musicians from NYC, were a huge hit–they fit an intimate restaurant wedding perfectly…loved their Stevie Wonder saxophone sound!  Definitely check them out–they run the gamut from background cocktail music to high energy dance.  Have to mention also the nice flowers from A Floral Affair from Guilford and beautiful cake from Creative Cakes by Donna.

Vanessa and Brandon, so nice to photograph your wedding!  Thanks and congratulations!!  To view more photos click here or below where it says “Click to view more photos…

Just before Julie and Brian’s wedding last weekend a mahogany hulled Chris-Craft swept by the cove at The Candlewood Inn in Brookfield CT where they were about to be married, making quite a nice scene-setter for their beautiful outdoor ceremony.  The rain even held off for them, allowing for some fun on the the dock with the bridal party (girls in maroon, guys in gray & pink…nice flowers by Dean Street Greenery) before the party moved inside.  After some funny toasts by their family, the dancing began.  Brian’s mom and her friends celebrated the night with “The Society”, a nice Zinfandel and Barbera blend California wine that they make themselves.

Julie and Brian, have a fantastic honeymoon and have a sip of raki for us in Istanbul…congratulations!!
