2011 New York Mets for SportsNet NY

Happy Opening Day!  Wonderful to be working with the New York Mets again for the third year…and this time in color!  The images are shot early morning on Photo Day during Spring Training in Port St. Lucie.  We’re the last stop on the players’ photo tour of all the media outlets and have a studio set up in the visiting team’s locker room.  The players are warm, friendly, and fun to shoot!  It’s a fast shoot with 1-2 minutes per player.  The first shot was at 7:45 am and the last at 9:30, so an hour and 15 minutes to shoot 60 players…definitely an adrenaline rush!  This year we went for a more serious set of photos but I can’t help snapping when the players crack a smile!  SportsNet NY integrates these images into their television video clips among other uses by them and the Mets.

Thanks again to Julie, the SNY producer, who’s been a great on- and off-set partner in creating these images and took a chance on us three years ago as non-sports photographers!

It’s Opening Day for the New York Mets at the Florida Marlins today!  Back in February we were down in that balmy state at Port St. Lucie for our third year of shooting portraits of the NY Mets players for our client, SportsNet NY (SNY), the “The Home of all Things NY Sports”.  David Wright, Angel Pagan, Carlos Beltran, Ike Davis, Mike Pelfrey…and all the 50+ guys were great as always.  Here are some of our favorites.  Go Mets in 2011!!!  To see more photos, click on “Click to view more photos…”

If you are getting married in the next year or so, you’re probably in the thick of the “vendor search” process.  You’ve been on Style Me Pretty and countless other wedding-related sites in the blogosphere and done all permutations of Google searches in that quest to find the best photographer, venue, caterer, florist etc. for your wedding.

Here’s a tip to help you in this process:  ask the vendors you like (or have already hired) for their favorite wedding professionals.   These folks have attended hundreds of weddings and have observed other vendors in action, seen their work afterward, and heard feedback from their clients about who’s done a great job.

We call our recommendations our “Short List”.  Check them out if you’re looking for some great vendors!
