Winvian Wedding Litchfield CT : Jackie and Jamie!

In our era of dashed off emails and countless texts, the hand written note carries that much more meaning.  Jackie and Jamie–who were married two weeks ago at Winvian in Litchfield County–not only penned notes to each other for their first look, but also wrote personalized letters to their guests to greet them at their tables.

Their outdoor wedding and cocktail party on the sunny Winvian lawn had that reunion feel with several groups of school friends and family from Switzerland.  Soft pastel flowers from Litchfield’s Sarah Worden Natural Design complemented the country vibe, and into the night, the Hank Lane band performed upbeat dance music.

It was fun time shooting alongside our video friend Jim Alteri who was filming Jackie and Jamie’s day.  Winvian’s a wonderful retreat for urbanites looking for a little nature–as we left I saw the faintest sign of the Milky Way–not bad only 100 miles from NYC.

Congratulations Jackie and Jamie (and welcome back from your honeymoon)!!  Thanks so much for having us capture your day…to view many more photos please click here.

Keeler Tavern Museum Wedding: Grace and Roger!

We had a wonderful time photographing Grace and Roger’s Keeler Tavern Museum wedding in Ridgefield, Connecticut a few weeks back.  Grace wore a beautiful Monique L’Huillier white dress and Roger sported Armani.  They incorporated a variety of Chinese details, including handmade (by Grace) origami cranes, paper hearts and strands of paper flowers.  Grace’s parents sent their love and good wishes from China via a video played at the reception.  A relaxing and intimate Connecticut garden party wedding!

Congratulations Grace and Roger..thanks for having us photograph your wedding!  To see more photos please click here.

Lobster Rolls of New England Book Launch Party!

Our good friend Sally Lerman came to Jane last summer as she was writing her book “Lobster Rolls of New England”, to ask Jane to photograph their adventure in and around New England on sea and land as they explored the nitty-gritty of lobster roll nirvana.  Their Thelma and Louise roadtrip started on the Connecticut and Rhode Island shorelines, before they left port in Maine with lobstermen to see where these bugs come from.  Along the way, they ate their weight in lobster rolls…it’s all chronicled in Sally’s book!

Last week Sally and Ken hosted a festive book signing party at their home, complete with a lobster roll truck serving up warm butter lobster rolls…man they’re good!  One bite and you’ll agree with Sally that “I love lobster, I love butter and when combined with the right bread, I think the lobster roll may be the perfect food.  If I had a last meal, this would be it, ideally finished with a fresh lemon meringue pie.”  Amen.

Lobster Rolls of New England is the definitive book on the subject and Sally brings her expertise having tasted over 200 different lobster rolls.  The book outlines a great adventure and beckons you to follow the Lobster Trail.  And it’s a thoughtful hostess gift or wedding goody bag present for out-of-towners.   Order a copy on Lobster Gal’s website:  http://lobstergal.com/product/lobster-rolls-of-new-england/

Congratulations Sally and Jane!!  And welcome to the Summer of Lobster, 2014!!
