The Connecticut Shore–never prettier and preppier than at the Old Lyme Beach Club in late September.  And outside at the Beach Club, Katrina and her parents walking down the aisle to meet Charles…to the sounds of Led Zeppelin’s Over the Hills and Far Away.  Definitely set the tone for a festive and free spirited wedding at the end of summer!

Katrina and Charles included an eclectic mix of literary and music choices in their wedding, ranging from from e. e. cummings to Robert Fulgum to Hemingway, and Neil Young to The Rolling Stones.  And the Old Lyme Beach Club, which dates to 1939, very much captured the magic of a seaside wedding, with long tables on the porch decorated with linens from La Tavola and BBJ and colorful flowers from Azalea Floral Design.

A real homecoming feeling–Charles grew up in Old Lyme, and Katrina summered on Fire Island NY–and for this world traveling couple there was no better place to get married than by the sea in the northeast.  The reception kicked off with really heartfelt, honest speeches by family and Katrina and Charles on the intimate tented dance floor.  Wonderful working with our good friend Lindsay of Sixpence For Your Shoe wedding planning again!  Katrina’s stylish dress was from Wedding Atelier and the bridesmaid dresses were from J. Crew.  Loved the cute cake from J Cakes and guests went home with just about the world’s best donuts (I’m not kidding)….Beach Donuts in Clinton CT on Route 1–check them out!

Congratulations Katrina and Charles!  Thank you for having us photograph your wedding!  To view many more photos please click here….

Last night all of us–Jane, the boys, and Jane’s dad from England–went to the season opening of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.  Rounding the corner, we were blown away by the huge banner with our photo of Carolyn Kuan, the HSO’s Music Director!

This shoot was a true team collaboration–great ideas from Katie Bonner Russo, HSO Marketing Director, Tod Kallenbach of Dornenburg Kallenbach Advertising (DKA), and we loved the design DKA’s Ginger Nagy developed!  And a huge thanks to our model, Carolyn Kuan, who was fun, inspirational and game for our ideas!!  Here are some iPhone pics of the banner…
