When you photograph a intimate wedding you can’t help but feel a part it…which is a lot of fun!  This was very much the case with Jessica and Lemi’s joyful wedding at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison CT–I loved photographing such a warm wedding, especially laughing with their friends at the ladies table (thanks Jess and Lemi!). Gorgeous afternoon for a Connecticut beach wedding….and loved that once the smooching got going at the reception at Guilford’s Stone House Restaurant, every couple joined in for a photo of their kiss…parents included!  Thanks so much Lemi and Jessica for having me photograph your wonderful wedding!  To see lots more photos click here…

As the saying goes, if you can read this…thank a teacher.  Well, we want to help those teachers in the Hartford area help their students to read and write better.  So we created a fundraiser to benefit participating West Hartford schools (Bugbee, Norfeldt, Lollipop Tree Preschool and more) and Hartford’s Grace Academy, an independent school dedicated to providing a quality, tuition-free education to girls from low-income families residing in Hartford’s inner city neighborhoods.

Jane’s an avid book reader (and book club member) and for the past five years I’ve tutored adults at Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford.  And with two grade school boys we see firsthand the importance of a strong start in literacy.  We tend to take our literacy for granted but for many children it can be a big challenge to bring all the skills together to read and write proficiently–your help is most appreciated!

Cori’s a PhD in biology and Brett’s working on a PhD in physics…but what you notice about them is their chemistry.   Over Labor Day weekend Cori and Brett were married at Cori’s parents’ beautiful home in Fairfield CT, which features a cool sunken garden surrounding a pool, and lots of lawn, all tailor-made for a gorgeous wedding!  Theirs was a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the sun where I really noticed how peaceful and relaxing hymns can be.

With perfect timing, just minutes after ceremony ended heavy rain kicked-in (which, best man Chris later noted in his toast, is a sign of good fortune in his home country of Nigeria), and we made our way to The Patterson Club just down the road. The party kicked off in style with Cori and Brett’s great first dance..bravo guys!  And then the kissing began…with a fun & funky tradition: selecting couples’ names out of a hat to “demonstrate” a type of kiss that Cori and Brett would then “perform”.  Wow…a spectrum of kisses from the hilarious to the passionate and every kind in between!
