Just got back from Florida where for the second year Jane photographed the NY Mets at Spring Training at Tradition Field in Port St. Lucie for Media Day 2010 for SportsNet NY.

Starting at 7am the Mets roster rolled through our locker room studio.  David Wright, Jose Reyes, Mike Pelfrey, Johan Santana, Daniel Murphy, Alex Cora, Jason Bay…a great bunch of guys.  And Jane and Julie from SportsNet NY have perfected their tag team approach to getting great responses from the players that result in intimate, fun and cool photos.

This is the second year that we’ve shot the Mets…check out the 2009 Mets Spring Training photos blogpost for last year’s shots.

We were also featured in the local West Hartford Life newspaper for the SportsNet NY and the NY Mets photography…..see the article in West Hartford Life.

Lastly, this is funny: driving south on I-95 into Port St. Lucie, Jane noticed the billboard touting the NY Mets at Tradition Field…and saw they used her black and white studio photo of the Mets hat.  Hey, our first billboard!

We’ll show lots of the Mets photos on our blog after opening day in April.  Let’s Go Mets!!!!

Just saw that PDN (Photo District News, the commercial photographers’ magazine) used Jane’s NY Mets photo (of former Mets relief pitcher JJ Putz) to promote its 2010 Faces portrait photography contest.

Jane’s black and white series of the ’09 Mets was one of the Faces contest winners in the celebrity category in 2009.

Next month we’re headed back to Florida to photograph the Mets at Spring Training 2010.  Port St. Lucie here we come!

Recently we traveled down Route 9 to New Britain to meet and photograph Douglas Hyland, the Director of the New Britain Museum of American Art, for the November issue of Connecticut Magazine. It was a pleasure talking with Mr. Hyland and seeing this gem of a museum, which we’d been planning to visit for a long time.  We loved Lisa Hoke’s “Gravity of Color” artwork, a beautiful kaleidoscopic arrangement of thousands of plastic cups dipped in paint alongside vintage paper cups (see our photo below).

If you haven’t been, it’s definitely worth a trip to see the NBMAA—the address is 56 Lexington Street in New Britain CT and website is www.nbmaa.org. And the Museum runs many kids’ classes as well.
