Shooting commercial work brings you behind the scenes and up close to so many different careers and workplaces that you would never get access on your own.  I really enjoyed getting to spend an hour shooting local Episcopal Bishop Laura Ahrens and also getting a tour of the beautiful building that the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut is housed in on Asylum.

You may remember that we shot the documentary-style project of the re-installation of the Swarovski chandeliers at the New York Metropolitan Opera late last summer for the 50th anniversary of Lincoln Center.  Now that the chandeliers are up, we have been hired by Swarovski again to capture product/architectural shots of the lit sputniks.  This was a completely different approach, slowing down…using a tripod, high apertures, low ISO and some off-camera lighting.  Part one of the project is to capture shots of the chandeliers in daylight:
