Last night all of us–Jane, the boys, and Jane’s dad from England–went to the season opening of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.  Rounding the corner, we were blown away by the huge banner with our photo of Carolyn Kuan, the HSO’s Music Director!

This shoot was a true team collaboration–great ideas from Katie Bonner Russo, HSO Marketing Director, Tod Kallenbach of Dornenburg Kallenbach Advertising (DKA), and we loved the design DKA’s Ginger Nagy developed!  And a huge thanks to our model, Carolyn Kuan, who was fun, inspirational and game for our ideas!!  Here are some iPhone pics of the banner…

Jane and I headed up to Storrs for the second year to photograph the UConn Women’s Basketball team for SNY SportsNet NY…and this year we photographed the UConn Men’s Basketball team as well.  Thank you for doing make-up again Nicole Moleti!  Here are several photos from the shoot, and more can be viewed here.  Go Huskies!!

Jane and I recently headed up to the Berkshires on a beautiful summer night to photograph Rinker Buck for Flight Training Magazine.  Buck’s a writer and adventure junkie who achieved fame back in 1966 by flying a Piper Cub across the entire US with older brother Kern when they were only 15 and 17.  Yikes.

Buck’s book Flight of Passage is the intimate story of this cross country adventure…let’s see…they had no radio, no lights, just headed west following rivers and landmarks all way from New Jersey down to Texas and over the mountains west into southern California.  Wow.  Later on they found out they were the youngest ever to fly across the US.  Cool adventure (Sebbie is reading Rinker’s book now…note to Sebbie (and Jude): don’t even think about it!).

Jane photographed Rinker next to a old school yellow Piper Cub in Great Barrington MA up the road from Buck’s home in Norfolk CT.  Rinker’s a great writer and storyteller…he wrote for the Hartford Courant for many years.  And he’s a really nice guy.  Rinker’s latest venture was traversing the Oregon Trail from Kansas City to Oregon in a covered wagon pulled by mules.  Look for the book soon!  Makes you want to take that odyssey or road trip you’ve always dreamed of!
