Essex CT Sperry Tent Wedding Album of Caitlin and Greg!
We just got back from a photographers’ convention in New Orleans and see that winter has arrived (finally) in Connecticut. Perfect timing for some images of summer!…here’s a peek into Caitlin and Greg’s beautiful early September wedding we photographed back in 2010 in Essex CT. Loved their wedding at their home in Essex with the ceremony in the front yard and the reception in the Sperry Tent in their backyard. We had the pleasure of working with Lauren and Kristin from Bellafare, the boutique event & wedding planning co. from NYC, and this wedding featured gorgeous flowers and decor from Lewis Miller Design. Greg and Kaitlin’s album is the archival, handmade Queensberry 10×14 “Duo” album with a white leather cover. Duo albums combine matted and flush-mount photos into one album for a classic, creative look. Here are some photos of their album. More album sneak peeks coming on our blog shortly…

Allison Pataki and David Levy’s Wedding in Hudson Valley NY!
Alli and Dave’s wedding weekend, part deux…their wedding in the Hudson Highlands of New York! Beautiful, intimate and tons of fun, their wedding kicked off with Alli’s dapper nephew (as ringbearer) carrying the “Here Comes the Bride” sign at Our Lady of Loretto Church in Cold Spring. During the Mass Dave’s brother Jonathan played guitar, singing a hauntingly beautiful version of “Here I am, Lord”. After the ceremony the crowd waited for Alli and Dave to emerge from the church…the doors burst open and a beaming Alli and Dave descended through the flurry of ivory petals…what a way to start your life together!
Onto their reception in Alli’s parents’ beautiful home in Garrison, beginning with colorful cocktails, such as blackberry gin fizz, on the lawn. With the sun setting family and friends gathered in the awesomely decorated tent from Stamford Tent, where LMD floral created the most magical and colorful world filled with trees, texture and abundant flowers– zinnias, dahlias and roses among others. Tables names reflected the wild and mystical feel with such places from literature as Lothlorien from The Lord of the Rings, and all the details–lanterns, birch bark, rose hips, figs, pears and Chinese blue vases–looked perfect against the brilliant scarlet runners. Matching this look was the outstanding cuisine from Main Course Marketplace & Catering right in the Hudson Valley.
The intimacy and humor of the night was reflected in the wonderful toasts by the Governor, Dave’s brother, Andrew, and Alli’s sister, Emily. Their talented friends sang a hymn and Dave’s brother Jonathan was back on guitar, playing a song he wrote for Alli and Dave’s first dance. Then the partying kicked in with some serious dancing to the excellent East Coast band which included classic 80s music, and to top it off all the Yale alumni gathered to sing a rousing Bull Dog! Bull Dog! Such a great wedding! It was a pleasure working with Elizabeth Allen, the consummate event planner, and nice working side by side with the folks from Films by Francesco.
Thanks so much Alli and Dave for having us photograph your wedding weekend! We loved it!!

Alli and Dave’s Rehearsal Dinner at the Highlands Country Club in Garrison NY
What a wedding weekend for Alli and Dave! We first met them in May in Garrison NY for their engagement photo session at Alli’s 19th century home overlooking the Hudson river. Fast forward to September and there’s a beautiful tent in Alli’s backyard and all the details are in place for their Hudson Highlands wedding. But first, their rehearsal dinner brought a little Chi-town east with a “A Taste of Chicago”party at the Highlands Country Club in Garrison NY. Dave hails from the town’s North Shore so the dinner highlighted hometown sites and teams along with Chicago dogs and bbq pork on the menu and a Chicago cornhole competition out in the tent.
As master of ceremonies, Dave’s dad kicked off a wonderful night of toasts, both wickedly funny and touching. But first came a great Yalie tradition as the Mory’s cup snaked its way around the room with a perfect ending and rousing rendition of Mory’s Song…loved it! Then on to the Second City toasting & roasting by family and friends, as the waiting-to-toast line grew longer and longer. On both sides, family and friends had been waiting for this moment with years of funny anecdotes to share with the audience. A slideshow played throughout the night chronicling Alli & Dave through the years, and one of Alli’s friends bent Alli’s “no video” rule by showing some of Alli’s acting career in such roles as the Wicked Witch of the West…excellent!
Just a great party and the perfect prelude to their wedding…stay tuned for those photos coming soon!
