Way before Irene swept through these parts, Kim and Pete were married in the sunshine along the Connecticut River in Haddam at Eagle Landing State Park in Haddam (appropriately named…I snapped a bald eagle soaring overhead).

Kim’s family home in Old Lyme was the perfect relaxed place to get ready down at the CT shore.  Kim is a smiler!  She has a beautiful smile and so easily breaks into a beaming one.  They grew up in Farmington and actually Pete was a camp counselor at Winding Trails where our boys Sebbie and Jude went this summer.  You can tell they live in Boulder, Colorado with their upbeat personalities and love of the outdoors.  Kim and Pete have dated since high school and have a real easy way with one another and at their reception at The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station, Kim came to the mic to sing I Will by the Beatles to Pete….so very nice.

The hydrangeas, roses and other nice flowers were from Nancy Ellen’s Garden in Chester and classic cake came from Cakes by Donna in Haddam.

Kim and Pete, so nice to meet you and your families and photograph your wedding!  Congratulations!!

With Irene about to unleash her fury on coastal Connecticut, Farrell and Darius were married in Essex CT last Saturday with a tented reception full of love and camaraderie at the Dauntless Club.  The weather actually held out nicely for the ceremony and outdoor photos, and then–as if on cue–the rain began as Farrell and Darius entered the tent.  Gotta love Sperry Tents…they are a natural for our New England weather and, of course, they look gorgeous.  Here’s a sneak peek of Farrell and Darius…and their Sperry tent…and check out the photo the folks at the Griswold Inn snapped on Sunday…yikes…the dance floor is floating in the storm surge of the Connecticut River.  That’s the mark of a great party!!

We traveled to Litchfield County for Alicia and Tim’s wedding two weeks ago with their tented reception held in Alicia’s parents’ lovely home in Lakeville, such a beautiful part of Connecticut.  Alicia and Tim were married in the classic Congregational Church of Salisbury and headed back to Lakeville where the rain didn’t dampen spirits whatsoever—this was an energetic wedding, with tons of dancing to the LaBlanc Brothers band who are awesome singers and instrumentalists.  We loved Alicia’s gown and the bridesmaids’ lemon yellow dresses, and Tim and the men in blue blazers looked great next to the girls.  The lemon theme was carried throughout with the beautiful centerpieces and flowers by Sweethaven Farm in Salisbury.  Their cool vintage cake topper came from Alicia’s grandmother’s wedding cake and the menu by Emily’s Catering included lobster bisque and steamers, adding a New England coastal touch.   A very fun wedding with lots of laughter and letting loose under the tent right up to the tossing of lavender buds for Alicia and Tim at the end of the evening.

Thanks so much Alicia and Tim (and Peggy and Ted!) for having us photograph your wedding….congratulations!!
