Nicole and Drew’s Wedding at The Branford House in Groton, CT
Two Fridays ago Jane and I were on the ferry from Orient Point, NY to New London and passed right by the Branford House mansion in beautiful Groton (we were returning from a few days with the kids on the North Fork). And just 24 hours later we were right back there, photographing Nicole and Drew’s wonderful wedding reception on the huge lawn of the Branford House.
Nicole’s dad Bob oversaw all the particulars of Nicole and Drew’s wedding with a spreadsheet that would make NASA proud. His attention to detail really paid off, ensuring that all logistics went flawlessly along the Connecticut shoreline from Milford (Nicole’s house) to New Haven (where Drew got ready in the Westville neighborhood) to Branford (St. Mary’s Church) to Groton (the reception at the Branford House).
Nicole and Drew seem perfectly matched…except when it comes to baseball: while she showed her pride undercover with Yankees boxers, he sported “Go Mets” on the soles of his shoes. (Shameless plug—check out Jane’s award winning Mets pictures in the blog article below).
After very funny and loving toasts, there was some killer dancing under the tent on the south side of the Branford House. Especially noteworthy was the amazing dancing by Drew’s Dad and Nicole!
We also had the pleasure of meeting Penny from Matthew’s Catering (she’s Matthew’s mom), who also helped with wedding day details.
Nicole and Drew (and Bob!), thanks very much for having us photograph your wedding!

Amy and Shawn’s Wedding at Lake of Isles in North Stonington, CT
We traveled down to North Stonington on July 4th for Amy and Shawn’s fun wedding that began with “getting ready” time at the MGM Grand Hotel at Foxwoods. This was our first trip to the new casino and hotel, which towers above a sea of green trees in southeastern Connecticut. The wedding ceremony and reception were a short drive away at the Lake of Isles golf course. Great service and delicious food too.
The guys started with a golf tournament at Lake of Isles early in the morning of the 4th (and check out the golf cupcakes and cake topper!). The outdoor ceremony was held on the deck overlooking the Lake. Amy’s flowers by Jessica’s Country Flowers in Burlington, Connecticut were outstanding, beautiful pinks and greens and the biggest “petal toss” we’ve ever seen for a recessional!
Amy and Shawn, thanks so much for having us document your wedding!

Megan and Hugh’s Wedding at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, CT
We had the pleasure of photographing Megan and Hugh’s very fun wedding last weekend at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme. A break in the June gloom allowed for some sunny weather for a beautiful Connecticut shoreline wedding.
Megan got ready in the Black Point area of Niantic where 40 years ago this summer Mike vacationed (watching Apollo 11 touch down on the moon). Hugh got ready at the classic New England Old Lyme Inn just across the street from the Flo Gris. Before heading to Flo Gris we stopped for shots at Megan’s uncle’s beautiful Buttonball Farm in Old Lyme.
At the Flo Gris, The HOE band played great old school bluegrass and country banjo-bass and acoustic guitar music, setting a really nice mood for the outdoor cocktail hour.
Megan’s mom sang beautifully at Christ the King Church in Old Lyme. Then Hugh’s sister delivered a smooth
rendition of The Little River Band’s “Reminiscing” for Megan and Hugh’s first dance. And Hugh’s cousin began his toast by
crooning the opening lines to “Lady” by Styx. Kind of felt like 1978…
After touching speeches by family and friends it was party time, led by “Table 4″….the Oregon and San Francisco friends who cut loose with their Oregon Duck yellow napkin headbands and armbands.
A Thyme to Cook from Stonington did a great job decorating and catering the event. (Note the nice vintage cake-topper from Megan’s parents’ wedding).
Megan and Hugh, thanks very much for having us photograph your wedding!
