Hill-Stead Museum Wedding Farmington CT: Halley and Mike!

Happy New Year!!  After a very busy photo season we are back blogging and have lots to share this winter.

Let’s start with a wonderful wedding back in June at the Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington CT.  The slight drizzle didn’t put off Halley and Mike from getting married in the beautiful sunken garden on the Hill-Stead’s grounds.  Hill-Stead has plenty of nooks, barns and porches for folks to mingle over drinks, making for an intimate cocktail party.

The festive atmosphere continued in the tent, with Halley and Mike’s stylish decor and catering by Clambakes of Connecticut.  Halley’s brother’s and Mike’s best man’s funny toasts set the stage for some seriously high-octane dance fever.  A very fun and stylish wedding…thanks so much Halley and Mike for having us photograph your wedding day!  Click here to view many more photos from their Hill-Stead wedding…

Rose’s Berry Farm Engagement and Proposal!

What an honor to be a part of this Rose’s Berry Farm engagement and proposal!!!  A first for everyone including me!  We literally hid in the bushes while the the future bride rode a tractor to find a beautiful table created by Nancy Goldstein at Amazing Celebrations in the middle of the blueberry rows.  Completely surprised when her soon-to-be fiancé walked out, it was such a joy to watch and document.  After threatening rain all week it was a beautiful night capped off with the excitement of a runaway tractor (shortly after the tractor photo below)…thank you Pedro for saving the day…I’m sure it will make for great stories and memories!  A pleasure to meet you both and be a part of your adventure…thank you for having me!

Marisa and Drew Hartford Golf Club Wedding in West Hartford CT started nearby with a first look at Marisa’s family home, followed by trolley tour of West Hartford, stopping at the beautiful Elizabeth Park and Marisa’s alma mater, Kingswood Oxford for some photos.  Kingswood’s stucco and red shutters brought a little bit of Paris to the photos of Marisa and Drew…a great photo spot!  Onto the Hartford Golf Club, where the blue sky appeared on cue for their ceremony–officiated with terrific Irish wit by their pastor. Later at the reception, Marisa’s parents paid such nice tribute to their daughter and set the tone for some really funny stories by Marisa’s brother and Drew’s best man–a highlight of the night.

Lots of local vendors helped make the day, from Rose Marie Belo’s Lettres Stationery in Avon CT (see you in a few weeks!), their cake by Hartford’s Mozzicato’s Bakery (with a vintage 1940s cake topper), and nice flowers by A Special Place Floral in West Hartford.

Congratulations Marisa and Drew (and Christine!) and thanks for having us photograph your great day!  Click here to see more photos
